My Valentine face pendant and two cards -

Hi!  I didn't get a chance to post yesterday about my Valentine pendant.  She is complete finally - nothing kept simple here!  I went with Kumihimo cording and some chain for the necklace cording.  I've decided that this one will just be a pendant necklace - no pin back.

I enjoyed making her but I'm glad she's finished!  Hope you like her.  (My granddaughter says the faces kind of freak her out - LOL- maybe that's why I like them?)

Today I've been working on the two cards I started last week.  I stamped out some of the Santoro stamp images and colored two of them.  If you remember, I used Prisma color pencils.  I finished the images up with Copic markers and a little glitter.   I used die cutters to create a frame shape on one and a scalloped oval frame shape on the other - both are raised from the surface of the card base by matching foam shapes - I think they came out pretty well.  The cards still need to have a sentiment added and the pink card needs more embellishment too.  The green one with a frame speaks for it's self - but there may be an opening sentiment added to the front.  See what you think:
Pink - Thinking of you...

Green - Wish you were here...

Pink is 4.75" square and green is 5X7
I hope that everyone is having a good Martin Luther King day here in the states.  It seems long ago that he captured the hearts and minds of the nation - may we all capture his dream and find peace together.

Until next post - be well and take care - K

Valentine with options...

Happy January 13th!  A beautiful, albeit, cold Tuesday here in upstate NY. The sun was almost painfully bright - giving the illusion that it was warmer today - when in fact it was a rather chilly 4 F - again - without windchill - and there certainly was one - -11F below zero.  Brrr!

I am trying to work out how to do YouTube videos - as a matter of fact that's how I spend a couple of hours today - still not comfortable with it.  Will keep trying.  I really want to grow this blog and my YouTube channel - please follow my blog and subscribe to my YouTube channel - I would really appreciate it!

I also spent time today trying to work out what kind of necklace hanging to use for my Valentine face pendant.  I am a very slow crafter I think.  The video I made to test out editing software was about trying Kumihimo to create the corded hanging.  The video will not make it to YouTube but some iteration of this may - I am still working out materials.  I came up with some very thin black cord and matching white cord so I think there will at least be a video about creating the corded necklace.

Here are a few photos of the face pendant with necklace bases that I already have and then a photo of a prior work of Kumihimo that I finished last summer.  Hope you like them.

Kumihimo - the end is not yet completed will be a tassel or beaded

The last picture is from yesterday morning - it snowed fairly long and pretty hard.  Enough that the snowplows were out all day and even my driveway was plowed.  I am very blessed to live in such a beautiful place - at least I like it when I can look at it from inside the house - LOL.

I will hopefully have a video to upload either tomorrow or Thursday; until then, may your life be happy!  K

New Face Pendant - done!

I finished my latest face pendant today.  Yay!  I had almost enough beads to complete the fringe without breaking into the new container I found - yes - found. I really do have a lot of beads.  LOL.

She reminds me of a Valentine so that is what I've decided to call her.  (Even the beads around the face seem to form a heart.)  The only thing I need to decide now is how to hang her.  Do I do Viking Knit, use a cord or a ribbon?  I like Viking Knit but that means weaving the wire and beading the ends and creating the connections.  I enjoy it but it takes time - as does any good thing.  Oh well, we'll see.

This is a photo I just took before writing this post:

I used small teal blue seed beads in the fringe to compliment her eyes.  The face is made by sculpting polymer clay.  This one is hand painted and sealed and then attached to felt with E6000 in order to securely add the hand bead work. I hope that you like her.

Until next posting, take care - K
