Hi - if you are here - I am thankful and amazed. LOL. I do nothing to promote myself and I've left most of social media behind. The only main media I've kept (still active on) are YouTube - and now, once again, my blog. Welcome.
I am looking forward to sharing some of the things that I am making and projects that I am working on. This is a work in progress - one of my "projects".
I am going to begin with Yesterday - February 2nd - appropriate since it's known as "Groundhog day".
There is a YouTube creator whose channel name is Opal and Orchid. She made a beautiful bead woven necklace using the Bargain Bead Box of January 2021 - Roses are Pink. It was a beautiful selection of gemstones, beads, and rose gold findings. Noting here that I am not really a "pink" kind of person - but the box is beautiful. I will try to link both Opal and Orchid and the Bargain Bead Box at the end of this post.
Here is a photo of my version of her necklace - (the same as her's but using different beads - still a pale pink though.)
I still can't take great photos - but I'm ok with that.
There has also been some cross-stitching going on and I plan to share a FlossTube video soon. About 50 WIPs (works in progress) have carried into 2021 with me - so no shortage of fun things to do. In January I worked on Nora Corbett's "Coffee House", an ornament from page 37 of the 2020 issue of the Just Cross Stitch Ornament Collection, called, "Pointsettia" by Punochka.
Not fully finished yet - but I like it. I left Facebook. I disagree with any type of censorship and since I survived before them - I can survive without them. Sorry to lose my groups of friends with similar happy hobbies. Oh well. Freedom isn't free.
I also worked on Life after Death by Long Dog Samplers. I think I focused most of January on this piece and got a page finish. LOL. Other projects worked on during January were - Witching Hour a HAED offering by Lisa Parker. I finished Meow - a Leisure arts kit and restarted a Bead and Button kit called Homerun. On the last Sunday of January I pulled out His eye is on the Sparrow by Heartstring Samplery. This will be my Sunday stitch for the month of February. It's only in its starting phase - so not much to show.
During January, I put my sewing machine down in my sunroom so that I could access it when I was with family. Samantha was happy as I made her two beautiful cloth book covers - which she immediately possessed; so - no photos. LOL. I'm also working on a garter stitch scarf - just to keep my hands busy and see if maybe I can knit a little - it's not something I've ever been successful doing. I may work on Nora's "Mermaid of Atlantis" today. Part of my "plans" (God laughs...) for February is to have a Mira Monday - unsuccessful for Monday this week. Today I should be working on Forest of Sumatra as I designated Wednesday for Quaker Samplers. Ah well.
That is probably quite enough from me for today. I will try and make a regular posting when there is something to say. Here's hoping that today is a great day and filled with Courage and Kindness. Be well. 💓
